Sprinkler Leak Repair in Fort Pierce

We are Treasure Coast Sprinklers, and we do sprinkler leak repair in Fort Pierce, FL, for residential and commercial properties. Call and tell us what you see in the yard, and we come out, track the leak down and quote the whole job before any digging starts.

A leak hides under the turf, so its signs show up above it: a band of grass that stays wet and bright green while the rest of the lawn dries out, a "valve box" that fills with water, a "zone" whose heads barely clear the grass, or a water bill that climbs while the watering stays the same.

Where the water gets out

Where Sprinkler Leaks Start

Leaks come from a short list of places in an irrigation system, and each of them wastes water and lowers the pressure across the zone it sits on.

  • Cracked pipe

Buried PVC splits along its length or at a bend, and the water runs off into the sand around it.

  • Loose fitting

A coupling, elbow or tee works free at its joint and seeps every time the zone comes on.

  • Puncture

A mower, an edger or a stake driven into the lawn goes through a shallow line and opens a hole in it.

  • Broken head

A head knocked off its riser turns the line into a fountain, and the rest of the heads on that zone fall short.

Seeing any of these in your yard? The sooner the leak is found, the less water goes into the ground.

How the repair goes

How a Leak Is Found and Patched

A leak repair digs up the line at the leak, replaces the damaged pipe to restore the flow and runs the zone again to check it, the inspection the EPA's WaterSense Sprinkler Spruce-Up recommends for breaks and leaks before anyone waters more.

  1. Find the leak

The zone runs from the "controller" while the line is walked, head to head, to the wettest ground and the lowest spray.

  2. Dig up the line

The turf is cut back in squares and the sand comes out until the damaged stretch of pipe lies open in the trench.

  3. Replace the pipe

The cracked or punctured section is cut out and new pipe goes in with couplings, joined clean on both ends.

  4. Test the zone

Water goes back on with the trench still open, the joints are watched for a seep, and then the sand and sod go back.

After the fix

Restoring Even Water Pressure

Pressure troubleshooting finds the fault that makes the water uneven across a zone and fixes it, so every head gets enough to reach the edge of its coverage.

With the leak closed, the zone runs again and each "rotor" and spray head is checked for height and throw. Heads at the far end of the line that still come up short, with no water in the ground, point to a fault somewhere else in the system, and the fix moves off the pipe.

Low pressure with no leak in the line often points to the valve that feeds the zone.

How Long a Leak Repair Takes

Repair time depends on the problem: a clogged head takes minutes, while a leak or a broken pipe takes hours, and sometimes days.

How deep the line runs, how much pipe is damaged and whether the leak sits under a bed, a walk or a tangle of roots all add time. We tell you how long the job takes when we quote it.

Straight answers on cost

Sprinkler Leak Repair Cost

Sprinkler leak repair is priced by where the leak sits and how much pipe has to be replaced, and the price card here shows what a typical repair runs. A crack in an open stretch of lawn is a short dig and a short length of pipe; a leak under a bed, a walk or a root means more digging and more pipe. Some providers add a trip fee for sending a technician out, and a system larger than about 12 zones, or a pump system, is charged more for service.

What neighbors say

Straight from our Google listing, word for word.

My sprinkler system was 30 years old and needed replaced. They replaced everything on 1-7-21. The crew and Carl were excellent and answered all my questions and explained everything. Carl also explained the NEW digital system to me, making sure I understood how to use it. They only replaced what was necessary and were very fair. Strongly recommend this company.
