Who to call
Backflow Testing in Fort Pierce
Treasure Coast Sprinklers offers backflow testing in Fort Pierce, FL, on the irrigation systems of homes around town. You call, we come out, test the device and run the rest of the system with it, so you hear about a stuck valve or a leaking head on the same visit.
The test is about the water you drink. A device that no longer seals can let lawn water run back toward the house supply, and the only way to know it still holds is to put a test on it.
- Free, no-obligation estimates
- We show up when we say we will
- We quote the whole job before we start, with no surprise charges after
- We clean up when the work is done

What a Backflow Preventer Does
A "backflow preventer" is the device that keeps irrigation water from flowing back into the drinking water supply. Lawn water picks up soil, fertilizer and whatever sits around the heads, and the device makes sure it only ever moves outward, toward the yard.
- Also called
- The backflow valve or backflow device
- Where it sits
- On the supply line where the sprinkler system branches off the house water
- When it is tested
- At "start-up", when the system is turned on and pressurized
Step by step
How a Backflow Test Is Run
The trade tests the backflow device when the system is pressurized at start-up, and checks the water flow, each zone and the controller along with it.
-
Pressurize and test the device
Water goes back on to the system and the backflow device is tested under pressure, so it is checked doing the job it is there for.
-
Check the water flow
Flow through the system is checked, and the lines and fittings are looked over for leaks while everything is under pressure.
-
Run each zone
Every "zone", the group of heads a valve controls, runs in turn, and the coverage is adjusted where a head misses the lawn.
-
Program the controller
The "controller", the timer that sets when each zone runs and for how long, is programmed before the visit is done.
No surprise charges
Backflow Testing Cost
Backflow testing is priced per device, and each assembly on the property is tested and charged on its own. What moves the total beyond that is the state of the system around it.
- Trip fee. Some providers add a fee to cover sending a technician to the property.
- Repairs before the test. A test needs a working system, so any repair needed beforehand is billed at standard rates.
- System size. Systems larger than about 12 zones, pump systems and commercial properties are charged more than an ordinary residential system.

What neighbors say
Reviews from our Google listing, in the customers' own words.
My sprinkler system was 30 years old and needed replaced. They replaced everything on 1-7-21. The crew and Carl were excellent and answered all my questions and explained everything. Carl also explained the NEW digital system to me, making sure I understood how to use it. They only replaced what was necessary and were very fair. Strongly recommend this company.
